my speech! what do you think? input needed before monday!!

First of all before i begin i would just like to say a big thank you to mum and dad, you made Nannas last 2 weeks so wonderful and for that we are all eternally grateful. She had such a lovely holiday with you and thankfully we have the pictures and videos to prove it. You have stayed so strong and i am so proud of you both.
I new today that i wanted to say a few words but i wasn't sure how, so here goes,

Dear Nanna,
Words cannot explain how i feel right now, you touched my life in so many ways and i will keep those memories forever. If i had known when we sat on the bench in the garden before you went on holiday that it would be the last time we did that together i would have stayed there longer. I have so many lovely memories of the time i spent with you, sat on your bed doing our family tree, sorting out your clothes, having lunch with you, the holiday that we went on. You had just started enjoying your life again but i know you missed Bampa dearly.

If there is anything that you have taught me in life its that love is the most precious thing in the world and i loved you very much Nanna and you will always be in my heart and thoughts.

Sweet dreams,
God bless

Please can you help me, thats what i have so far but i feel i want it to be more meaningful! any help appriciated! the funeral is monday morning! so running out of time!
thank you x

What you have written is excellent, and at your age I would say that it's long enough.

That's because the two mistakes that most people make when they speak in public for the first time is to mumble, and to speak too fast.

So just use what you've got.

Speak loudly, to someone at the back (if the person at the back can hear everyone else will also hear).

Take your time. Take a deep breath before you start. Talk slowly and clearly. Hold your head up and don't look down at the floor or paper. Stop at every full stop, and take a deep breath before starting again.

Good luck.. I'm sure you will do fine.

That is an ideal eulogy and one that ticks the boxes in every way. It is touching, loving, caring yet not overly sad which sometimes can detract from the message of the eulogy.

Your parents will be very proud of your warm remarks for them and those listening will get to hear a loving grandaughter pay tribute to her Nan.

This is a lovely legacy indeed, the only change I might consider is the closing where you end with "sweet dreams", I would end it with the last line of your speech combined with "sweet deams" so in effect "we love you very much Nana, you will be forever in our hearts, sweet dreams".

I'm sure everything will go well as your content is excellent, well done and good luck.

Hey thanks for the feedback,
The funeral was in May though so quite a while ago. But i did the speech and it went really well. my voice trembled a bit when i said the bit to my mum and dad and i started crying at the end, but i did it and i was so proud as ive never done anything like that before. Everyone was really greatful that i did it. Thank you so much for your feedback
