Presenting your CV as a powerpoint?

A friend of mine in the US recently told me that it becoming more common there for people to present themselves, their achievements (effectively their CV) in a powerpoint presentation to accompany a job application. Does anyone have any more information on, or experience of this approach - it strikes me as an interesting way to go and I'd love some more information. Thanks

It seems to me that most of the presentations at job interviews have an element of this in anyway. Its just a question of how much of the CV you need to include. It gives you the added leeway of talking more about relevant points of your cv.
Giving a presentation also gives you the opurtunity to tell the potential employer why each point of your CV is relevant to them.
