How do I apply the same animation to a graphic in the NEXT slide?

Each of my slides has about 5 graphics, each with custom animation. I want to apply the same animation to the graphic in each position on all the slides--for instance, fly in from left after previous, faded zoom out after a 2-second pause--slightly different set of instructions for each graphic, but the same on each slide. Is there a way to save the instructions to apply to the graphics on the next slide? Replace one graphic with another with the instructions still in place? Set up a template?

Many thanks for any help. (5 graphics per slide, each with 3 or 4 instructions, over about 20 slides, adds up to a lot of drop-down-menu clicking.)

Which version are you using and are the graphics pictures or shapes?

PowerPoint 2003.

The graphics are both pictures and shapes. The shapes are easier: I just make each slide a duplicate of the last and replace the text, therefore leaving the animation in place. Can't find a similar technique for the pictures, however.
