putting power point presentation on a DVD

Please excuse me if this has already been addressed. I made my first powerpoint presentation withphotos and music. I would like to know if this could be burned on to a DVD and played by all. It is my understanding that unless one has a powerpoint program or the computer has the ability to show power point, my presentation would not work via cd. Let me know PLEASE if I can accomplish my goal of giving out the DVD's with this presentation and if they will be able to view on either their computer or DVD player. Thanks in advance, Maxine
