Father of the Bride Speech order

i am the father of the bride could you tell me what order the speech is made i.e. who do i thank ? how do i start the speech and end it also were do i put in a funny story and should it be about the groom or my daughter the bride

The usual structure for a father of the bride speech is to say a few words about your daughter, the bride and to welcome the bridegroom into the family.

Before you finish the speech you should toast "The bride and bridegroom"

What you then say is really up to you. Quite common is to tell a funny story about your daughter growing up, then move on to a funny story about the bride groom, this often involves the first meeting, but could be almost anything about him.

It would be quite acceptable to embarras your daughter, but less so to the groom.

It then works very well to say how much happier your daughter is since she met the groom.
