Interview panel presentation

Hi,

I've got an interview for a job that I really feel I must get - unfortunately I have to give 2 presentations (straight after the other). In the past, my presentations have been too detailed and boring and I tend to lose my concentration when I notice people on the interview panel are getting bored.

Any ideas on how I should approach this? The topics of the presentation are:

1). Give an example of a research project you have delivered - detailing stakeholder engagement
2). Exploring the research network

The interview is soon so any help would be greatly appreciated

Many thanks

Sorry for the delay in responding but I have been swamped with requests.

If you find that your audience is getting bored - that is a good sign - you are starting to read the audience.

A couple of quick tips

1. Stop sooner. No one ever complained of a presentation being too short - particularly if they have to sit through too of them. If I am given an hour slot I will typically only talk for 20 minutes. Any more than this ands the audience will start to get sleepy.

2. Change the energy levels. Bring more passion into your voice.

3. Make it interactive. If you see someone looking bored - ask them a question. It's what your teachers did at school. You could also do an interactive exercise. Ask the audience to write down the three most important things on your topic and get them to call them out.

4. Use pictures. Visual presentations are naturally more interesting than those that just use bullet point.

I hope that this helps

Please let me know how you get on.

Kind regards
