HELP: Sales Executive Interview Presentation - No Topic
Hi,
First, Thanks for being here. I just found this website and it will be very helpful! I am going into my 4th and FINAL interview with a company. The position is for an C-Level outside sales executive. My natural sales ability brought me this far, however, I have ZERO outside sales experience. Of course, this is their main concern. To provide me with the opportunity to confront this they are bringing me back Oct. 12 for the final interview where I will give a sales presentation. The topic of this sales presentation will be unknown to me until I walk in that day. The sales director and VP of sales will give me a company and product to sell at that time. I will be given 30 mins to develop a sales presentation. After the 30 mins is up I will have to give this sales presentation to these two men. This basically will determine whether or not I get offered the position. let's just put it this way "I AM FREAKING OUT!!!". Would it be good to put together a template or a "Sales strategy" (ex. Solution Selling) to use? How to I prepare without knowing what I will be speaking about? How can I get comfortable with the fact that I will have two very prominant older men's eyes staring into the back of my head!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any help would be appreciated!!!!!!!!! Thank you so very much! Carrie |

Don't get freaked out. Harness that energy as a judo would harness his oppponent's energy. Two ideas. Firstly do this as a timed exercise - pick a TV advert or a magazine advert and go through the exercise. If you can do it three times, on three different products before you walk in you will feel more confident. Try doing it on one of their products. If you do the presentation using flip charts or A4 sheets of paper that you can use. Try to make the presentation as visual as you can. Keep the presentation short and punchy. Secondly for a solutiuon selling proposition - try using this structure. 1. What is the problem that this product is trying to solve. 2. Briefly state the solution - the product o the product name 3. Describe how the product works - it's features and description 4. What are the benefits of the product 5. Real evidence that it works - case study or that you (or one of your customers has used it to great effect) Also to prevent people staring at the back of your head - keep facing them as much as you can. This is where the A4 and the marker pen can work well as you can present your presentation while facing them. Go for it! Good luck. Please let us know how you get on. |
