Speech for leaving job

I will be leaving my job in a primary school next week (in Admin) and will probably be presented with a leaving present in Assembly or just in front of all the staff. I would just like to say 'thank you' as I will be so nervous but know this will not look good. The problem is I hate my job and cannot wait to leave so will not be genuine if I talk about how I will miss people and working there and a few of the staff know how much I dislike my work.

If the presentation is in front of Assembly then I will have to address the children as well which makes it harder so would appreciate any suggestions for that as well as in front of colleagues only. I am not used to speaking in front of so many people and am dreading my last day because of this.

Thankyou.

Try to keep it as short and as sweet as you can.

Address the talk at the children and not at the staff. This should make it a lot easier.

Best to recount a few of the happier memories that you have had. It can't have all been bad.

Another good thing to add in is to wish luck to all of the pupils in the future. You can also highlight a few positiove things about your new opportunity and where you will be going to - the children will particularly like that.

I hope that this helps
