Wake Speech

Hi My father died on the 15th june with lung cancer and prostate cancer. We all only found out he had it a few days before including him. I would like to make a short speech at the wake to thank everybody and that sort of thing and maybe use a poem. My father was a big military man as is my sister, brother in law and also myself. There will be pweople there from everypart of his life. My dad use to teach other people like jazz bands, sea cadets, army cadets, girls brigade as well as train the TA Drummers. Please can you give me some advice on what to say and what order to put it in. I don't want a long speech just a couple of mins. My dad was a big joker and i know he wouldn't want people moping around.
