10 min Powerpoint Presentation on anything IT related???

I am fine with setting up a presentation and have a good idea of how many slides I should use etc but am completely stuck as to what to talk about. The job entails some training of users and wondered whether I should do my presentation as if I were training people on the use of email for example - do you think this is a good idea or should I change my mind before I get too far into it??

I see PP as a mean to present:

points / steps to remember or to do
data / graphs
anything static

Especially for software training - video tutorials are the best.

If you want to use PP for software you need to use a lot of screenshots.

Usually I use PP to show points / steps to remember or to do, so at this point you can do you presentation as if you are training. People tend to print out presentation and file them for later use.

Focus on very specific details that are really needed - so you cover the basics of the topic. Use ordered list to show steps and illustrate them with screenshots.

Thanks for the advice. I did change my mind in the end and decided to do a presentation to show how I prepare a training session. I used PowerPoint to show the types of screen shots I would use for a training manual. My presentation didn't take up the full 10 mins but they were fine with this as they said it was just a guideline and it was just to see my presentation skills. Felt it went well tho and I'm now just waiting to see whether I got the job.
Thanks again.
