15 min
I have a 15 min presentation for a internal job promotion in which i need to highlight the key competencies which are needed for the role.
Reading the website, everybody highly advocates using the rule of three. My only concern is filling a 15 min presentation with 3 key points. In my presentation i will be providing examples of when i have used these competencies, should i come up with as many examples as possible? or focus on one for each competency? |

Rule of three
The nice thing about the rule of three is that you can nest ideas into threes. So if you are presenting three main strengths you can give three examples of each strength. But you do not have to follow the rule of three to the letter each time. On one strength you may only have one example.
The secret really comes in the timing. Put down one ideas per point and then speak it out loud. Time this with a watch and see how long it lasts. Repeat this with the next idea. You can then get a flavour for how long the presentation will last. And don't worry about the presentation lasting for the full duration. In presentations short is sweet. Few people ever complained about a presentation being too short! GOOD LUCK |
