Presentation Topic Needed

I have been asked to give a presentation at an interview for a project management / software implementation consulting position. I am to speak for 15 to 20 mins about any topic. They have had everything from how to make a cheesecake to how to set up a database system for specific tasks. I am not allowed to use powerpoint, but may use the white board and bring any props that I desire.

I'm just stuck on picking a topic. I want soemthing sort of creative and not so technical. I need to show that I can effectively communicate an idea or concept in an iformative or persuasive tone.

A good presentation topic for a project management role is one that shows that you can work to a deadline, have a systematic approach or can hold a team together.

Cooking represents a good way to do this

"How to make a perfect risotto"
"How to make a great souffle" both have potential

If you really want to show it all working together you could try making a dish live. You could take in a portable gas burner (Camping Gas have some good examples) and cook something up in 15 minutes. You would need to practice it extensively in advance.

Another way would be to build somethingin front of the audience. Building bridges out of lego and showing which ones can take weight would be a good example.

On the presentation front giving a presentation about an engineering project could be interesting

For example the building of
- The Severn Tunnel by Isambard Kingdon Brunel
- Eurotunnel
- The Empire State Building
- The Brooklyn Bridge

If you are looking for a pre-preparedtopic then any one of the BBC Seven Wonders of the Industrial Word could work well http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/society...nders_07.shtml

There are a whole list of other topics available at

I hope that this helps

Why not try talking about a project that you have previously managed well, or how you have stuck to deadlines before?
