Don't worry too much. Generally speaking the best situation is to be farly honest. People leave jobs all the time.

If people say "why did you resign?" then perhaps the best answer would be to say something like "I worked really hard, but the culture wasn't very supportive. I kept going for a year, but the company was having problems and I felt that it was best to move on to look for a company where my contributions would be better valued."

You could then highlight some of the general problems, but keep it focussed on the company and on its strategy and not focussed on the relationship with your boss or other members of the team. Since you work in IT you could describe some of the problems that the company faces with their IT equipment - which shhould get you away from the topic.

You can then go on to describe some of the reasons why you think that working for the company that is interviewing you would be better.

The fact that you worked there for a year shows that you have strength to keep going in the face of adversity.

I would also suggest that you role play some of the interview questions with a friend. This way you will be better practiced at giving the answers.

One other piece of advice would be to check your CV very carefully before you send it in. Make sure that there are no spelling mistakes as just one spelling mistake could mean that you are not selected for interview. Make sure that you get someone to proof read the document for you.

I hope that this is of help to you.
