criteria for images

Each year, I produce a PowerPoint presentation for my art organization. What specific criteria for the images should I require for those who send cds to me with their images? I receive about 40 cds with 4 images on each.

I have been told that images should be submitted as JPEG (max quality), 355 dpi or 1200 bitmap. This doesn't seem necessary as they will be about 95dpi in the presentation.
