Inserting a file into powerpoint

I was told by a fellow professor that there is a way if one saved a song lyric file -- basically anyways e.g. a txt file -- and inserted that file into a blank powerpoint slide, powerpoint knows that is a song inserted and puts every line of lyrics on a seperate slide.

Is there a way of doing this?
