View PC PPT on Mac

Hello, I created several PPTs on a PC. I have a Mac at home and there are some people I need to show these PPTs to that use Macs. Any help on how I can do this? I haven't spent a lot of time researching it online because I just haven't had the time. I thought that someone might be able to give me some tips. I'm on Mac OS 9.1

Normally there are not too many problems viewing Mac generated powerpoint slides on a PC and vice versa

A lot of the graphic designers we use work on Macs and we can view these with few problems

The two areas we have faced are
The file ending - as I understand it many MAc files do not end with PPT and so they have to have .PPT added on afterwards. This is a bit tricky to do on a PC but is possible - you may have to go to the DOS prompt to change the file name to add on the .PPT suffix.

The other compatability issue that we have found is that macs do not like file names that are too long so a file name like
this_is_the_new_version_of_the_presentation_that_I_gave_last_year_v1.ppt
may need to be saved as something like updated_pres_v1.ppt

It is also possible that you may not have PowerPoint installed on your new machine. You may need to obtain a PowerPoint viewer from Microsoft.
